1 Scope This standard specifies the type classification and basic parameters, technical requirement, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transport and storage of general-purpose gantry cranes with a rated capacity of 3.2 t—320 t. This standard is applicable to the general-purpose gantry cranes (hereinafter referred to as "cranes") in service in the open air, with hooks, grabs or magnets (magnetic pads) as their load-lifting attachments, or two or three of the aforesaid means used simultaneously. For general-purpose gantry cranes with a rated capacity over 320 t or the identical parts of other gantry cranes, this standard may also be referenced. This standard is not applicable to cranes in service in the following conditions: —in the presence of inflammable, explosive or combustible gas, dust and corrosive gas; —in the presence of nuclear radiation, toxic gas. 2 Normative references The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this document.
