1 Subject Content and Application Scope This standard specifies a thermogravimetric method for the determination of total organic components, carbon black and ash in vulcanizates and rubber compounds. This standard is suitable for rubber compounds or vulcanizates containing the following rubbers occurring alone or as mixtures: polyisoprene of natural (or synthetic) origin; polybutadiene; styrene-butadiene copolymers; isobutylene-isoprene copolymers; ethylene-propylene copolymers.
