1 Scope
This Standard specifies the terms and definitions, product naming, structure, specification code and marking, requirements, sampling and test, packaging and marking as well as transportation and storage of steel wire ropes - sisal main cores.
This Standard is applicable to the steel wire rope cores made of sisal fiber.

3 Terms and Definitions
For the purpose of this Standard, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
Solution acidity
It refers to the quantity value of water soluble acid fully extracted out of products, expressed in the mL number (mL /100 g) of 0.1mol/L sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide solution consumed by the fully extracted soluble acid for neutralizing each 100g sample.
3.2
Salt content
It refers to the chloride content in the product substance compositions, expressed in percentage (%) of the contained sodium chloride.
4 Product Naming, Structure, Specification Code and Marks
4.1 Naming
Sisal fiber ropes in compliance with this Standard may be named as "steel wire ropes - sisal main cores".
4.2 Structure
Steel wire ropes - sisal main cores shall be twisted of at least three strands of uniform and firm sisal rope strands with good quality. The unit product shall be continuous integral ropes.
4.3 Specification code
Steel wire ropes - sisal main cores is named with the nominal diameter as the product specification code.
4.4 Marking
Steel wire ropes - sisal main cores are marked with the product name, code and serial number of this Standard, specification code and product characteristics code of specified gauze number of sisal yarn used for the steel wire ropes of the product. The meaning and expression methods are as follows:
