本部分等同采用ISO 10303-43：2000，技术内容和编定格式上与ISO 10303-43：2000保持一致。仅由于为将其转为国家标准，根据我国国家标准的制定要求，作了如下编辑性改动：
对于带下划线的用于EXPRESS语方描述的各黑本英文实体名、属性名和函数名等，为了既要维护其英文原意又要便于了解其名称代表的意思，在本部分中，当其作为标题出现时，标出了其中文译名；但在正文中，以英文为主，仅在正文中第一次出现或必要时，才将中文译名括起来放在英文原名后。
本部分代替GB/T 16656.43-1999《工业自动化系统与集成 产品数据表达与交换 第43部分：集成通用资源：表达结构》。与相比主要变化如下：
1）修改了以下EXPRESS声明：

——representation;
——uncertainty_measure_with_unit;
——using_representations.
2)增加了以下EXPRESS声明：
