1 Scope This part of GB/T 17215 is only applicable to newly manufactured static meters for active energy of accuracy classes 0.2S and 0.5S, for the measurement of alternating current electrical active energy in 50Hz or 60Hz networks and it is only applicable to their type tests. This Part is applicable to transformer-operated static electric energy meters for indoor application consisting of a measuring element and register(s) enclosed together in a meter case. It is also applicable to operation indicator(s) and test output(s). If the meter has a measuring element for more than one type of energy (multi-energy meters), or when other functional elements, like maximum demand indicators, electronic tariff registers, time switches, ripple control receivers, data communication interfaces, etc. are enclosed in the same meter case, then the relevant standards for these elements also apply. Note: GB/T 1208.1-2006 specifies transformers having a measuring range of 0.01In to 1.2In, or of 0.05In to 1.5In, or of 0.05In to 2In and transformers having a measuring range of 0.01In to 1.2In for accuracy classes 0.2S and 0.5S. As the measuring ranges of a meter and its associated transformers must be matched and as only transformers of classes 0.2S and 0.5S have the accuracy required to operate the meters of this standard, the measuring range of the meter shall be 0.01In to 1.2In. This Part is not applicable to: a) active energy meters where the voltage across the connection terminals exceeds 600 V (line-to-line voltage for meters for polyphase systems); b) portable meters and meters for outdoor use; c) data interfaces to the register of the meter; d) reference meters. Note: The dependability aspect is covered by the documents of the IEC 62059 series. 2 Normative References The following documents contain provisions which, through reference in this Part of GB/T 17215, constitute provisions of this Part. For dated references, subsequent amendments to (excluding correction to), or revisions of, any of these publications do not apply. However, the parties whose enter into agreement according to this Part are encouraged to research whether the latest editions of these documents are applied or not. For undated references, the latest edition of the normative document is applicable to this part.
