本标准叙述了通过计算产生疲劳的滑动轴承合金层的应力来改进试验结果可比性的方法。在实际应用中也需要一个同样的计算,因为应力是流体动力油膜产生的压力造成的,所以一定要完整的阐明运行和润滑的条件,除了动载荷、尺寸和运行特征之外,还要对疲劳系统做出如下详尽的规定:a)在动载条件下,随着时间和位置而变化的轴瓦最小油膜厚度在磨合时,应确保不能由于混合润滑在局部产生过热或剪切;b)在动载条件下,随着时间在圆周方向上和轴线方向上的压力分布;c)在轴瓦合金层产生的随着时间和位置而变化的应力,特别是最大交变应力。此外,滑动轴承疲劳强度可能受混合润滑、磨损、污物、摩擦化学反应和其他使用中产生的影响,从而将疲劳问题复杂化了。因此,本标准将疲劳强度严格限制在完全由液体动压将轴瓦表面用润滑剂油膜隔开的条件下。本标准适用于在完全液体动压润滑条件下运行的在试验台和应用中的油润滑圆柱滑动轴承,它包括在双金属和多层金属滑动轴承上的动态加载。
