本标准适用于含有以下一种或多种橡胶(异戊二烯橡胶、天然橡胶、丁苯橡胶、丁二烯橡胶、丁睛橡胶、氯丁橡胶)的共混物中测定异丁烯一异戊二烯共聚物(丁基橡胶、氯化丁基橡胶、澳化丁基橡胶)和乙烯一丙烯共聚物(乙丙橡胶、三元乙丙橡胶)中的一种或共混物的存在。本方法也适用于硫化橡胶和混炼胶。
本标准不适用于含有如下一种或多种配合剂的混合橡胶:不能被丁酮和乙醇混合溶剂完全抽提的聚烯烃、石蜡烃或氯化石蜡的混合物，或者不能被臭氧完全分解的热塑性弹性体(SBS)
