GB/T 19514-2024 Method of measuring volume for passenger car luggage compartment
Warning: This document is to define a uniform measurement basis and method, mainly to characterize the storage capacity of a luggage compartment, and is not to guide the personnel using this document to carry out operations that affect driving safety.
1 Scope
This document describes the unit module, the boundary and code of luggage compartment volume, the measurement method, and the representation of luggage compartment volume in the measurement of luggage compartment volume of a passenger car.
This document applies to the measurement of luggage compartment volumes for vehicles of Category M1, and may serve as a reference for other types of vehicles.
2 Normative references
The following normative documents contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this document. For dated references, only the edition cited applies. For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced document (including any amendments) applies.
GB/T 3730.1 Terms and definitions of motor vehicles, trailers and combination vehicle - Part 1: Types
GB/T 4780 Terms for motor vehicle body
GB/T 12673 Motor vehicle main dimensions measurement method
GB 15083 Strength requirement and test method of automobile seats, their anchorages and any head restraints
3 Terms and definitions
For the purpose of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 3730.1, GB/T 4780, and GB/T 12673 as well as the following apply.
3.1
luggage compartment
space in a vehicle body for luggage
[Source: GB/T 4780-2020, 4.2.6]
3.2
reference volume of luggage compartment
maximum sum of the volumes of the unit modules placed within the measurement boundary of a luggage compartment
Note 1: The luggage compartment whose volume is to be measured may be a front luggage compartment, a rear luggage compartment through to the passenger compartment, a rear luggage compartment not through to the passenger compartment, or a concealed enclosed luggage compartment.
Note 2: The volume unit is liter (L) or cubic decimeter (dm3).
3.3
unit module
cuboid for measuring the volume of a luggage compartment that has standardized dimensions and is sufficiently rigid to resist deformation
3.4
front luggage compartment
space for storage designed to be located in the powertrain compartment in the front of a vehicle
3.5
rear luggage compartment not through to the passenger compartment
rear space for storage not through to the passenger compartment (with the luggage compartment partition fixed and undetachable)
Note: The volume of a rear concealed enclosed luggage compartment is included in that of the rear luggage compartment not through to the passenger compartment
3.6
rear luggage compartment through to the passenger compartment
rear space for storage through to the passenger compartment (with the luggage compartment partition detachable, foldable and retractable)
Note: The volume of a rear concealed enclosed luggage compartment is included in that of the rear luggage compartment through to the passenger compartment
4 Unit module
Each unit module is a cuboid, with the fillet radius of each edge not greater than 10mm, while its dimension error shall not exceed ±1mm. Each unit module shall be sufficiently rigid to resist deformation, with its dimensions as specified in Table 1.
