1 Scope This standard specifies the class, test device and test methods of toxic assessment of fire effluents hazard for materials. This standard is applicable to the toxic classification of generating stably smoke from a material, and is inapplicable to the toxic classification of generating unsteadily smoke from a material. 2 Normative References The following documents contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this standard. For dated reference, subsequent amendments to (excluding corrigenda), or revisions of, any of these publications do not apply. However, all parties coming to an agreement according to this standard are encouraged to study whether the latest edition of these documents is applicable. For undated references, the latest edition of the normative document is applicable to this standard. It is a kind of parameter reflecting thermal decomposition or combustion degree of material. 3.4 Sufficient yield of smoke It refers to the maximum or approximately maximum yield of smoke for material. 3.5 Flow of fire effluents It is a kind of parameter describing the flowing property of fire effluent, namely flow volume of fire effluent in unit time, L/min. 3.6 Rate of generating smoke from a material It refers to the mass number of material for thermal decomposition and combustion in unit time, mg/min. 3.7 Inhalation exposure It refers to a kind of harm process mainly caused through respiration mode for human or animal in polluted ambience environment, also including partial sense toxicant contact. 3.8 Acute inhalation exposure It refers to a kind of inhalation exposure with relatively short exposure time (generally within 30min). 3.9 End point It refers that the laboratory animal appears such physiological reaction point as escape capability losing or death.
