本标准规定了线型光纤感温火灾探测器的定义、分类、一般要求、试验与要求和检验规则。本标准适用于采用感温光纤作为感温部件的线型感温火灾探测器。其他具有特殊性能的探测器，除特殊要求应由有关标准另行规定，亦应执行本标准。本标准制定过程中，参考了GB16280《线型感温火灾探测器》，同时根据我国产品情况制定了本标准的技术内容，并进行了相应的试验、验证工作。
