本部分规定了电气绝缘系统热评定的密封管试验程序，提出了含有固体和液体组件的电气绝缘系统使用的材料的热分级方法。定义了以纤维素纸和矿物绝缘油为组成的基准系统与由任何固体和液体绝缘材料组成的待评系统进行对比老化的试验方法。
本部分适用于与电压等级无关的以热应力为主要老化因子的包含液体和固体组件的电气绝缘系统。尤其适用于液浸变压器的绝缘系统。
