本标准与GB 3883.18《手持式电动工具的安全 第二部分：石材切割机专用要求》配套使用。
本标准为首次发布。
本标准规定了石材切割机的基本参数和型式、技术要求、试验方法、检验规则和标志、包装等要求。
本标准适用于一般环境下，由直流、交直流两用或单相串励电机驱动，用金刚石切割片对石材、大理石板、瓷砖、水泥板等含硅酸盐的材料进行切割的电动石材切割机。
