1 Scope
This document specifies the classification and designation, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking and accompanying documents, packaging, transport, and storage of poly-tetra methylene ether glycol (PTMEG) for industrial use.
This document is applicable to PTMEG for industrial use produced by polymerization of tetrahydrofuran (THF) monomer.

4 Classification and designation
The grade of PTMEG shall be expressed by “PTMEG” and the average molar mass. For PTMEG with an average molar mass less than 1,000 g/mol, each ±25 g/mol constitutes one grade; for PTMEG with an average molar greater than 1,000 g/mol, each ±50 g/mol constitutes one grade. For example, PTMEG650 indicates an average molar mass of 650 g/mol ± 25 g/mol; PTMEG1800 indicates an average molar mass of 1,800 g/mol ± 50 g/mol.
5 Technical requirements
5.1 Appearance
Solid: white, waxy;
Liquid: colorless and transparent, free from visible impurities.
5.2 Technical specifications
The technical specifications shall comply with the requirements of Table 1.
