1 Scope
This document specifies the technical requirements, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage requirements for multi-layer co-extruded films and pouches for food packaging (hereinafter referred to as "films and pouches"), provides the product classification, and describes the corresponding test methods.
This document is applicable to the production, inspection and sale of films and pouches for food packaging produced by multi-layer melt co-extrusion processes.
This document is not applicable to multi-layer co-extruded heat-shrinkable films and pouches.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
multi-layer co-extrusion film
A multi-layer composite film obtained by using two or more extruders to separately extrude multiple different or identical polymer melts through a common die.
3.2
polyolefin
A general term for a class of thermoplastic resins obtained by homopolymerisation or copolymerisation of α-olefins such as ethylene, propylene, 1-butene, 1-pentene, 1-hexene, 1-octene, 4-methyl-1-pentene, and certain cyclic olefins.

5 Product classification
5.1 Films are classified by shape into flat films and tubular films.
5.2 Products are classified into Types I, II, III and IV according to the main barrier functional resin, as shown in Table 1.
6 Requirements
6.1 Appearance quality
The appearance quality of films and pouches shall comply with the provisions of Table 2.
6.2 Odour
Films and pouches shall not have abnormal odour.
6.3 Printing quality
6.3.1 Gravure printing
The quality of gravure printing shall comply with GB/T 7707.
6.3.2 Flexographic printing
The quality of flexographic printing shall comply with GB/T 17497.2.
6.3.3 Lithographic printing
The quality of lithographic printing shall comply with GB/T 7705.
6.3.4 Digital printing
The quality of digital printing shall comply with GB/T 33259.
6.3.5 Bar code printing
The quality of bar code printing shall comply with GB 12904 and GB/T 14257.
6.4 Specifications
6.4.1 Dimensional deviations of films
The length and width deviations of films shall comply with the provisions of Table 3.
6.4.2 Splices
The splice length and number of splices of films shall comply with the provisions of Table 4.
6.4.3 Thickness and deviations
The thickness and deviations of films and pouches shall comply with the provisions of Table 5.
6.4.4 Roll core dimensions and deviations of roll films
Inner diameter: φ760+2 mm or φ1520+2 mm. Special requirements shall be agreed upon between the supplier and the purchaser.
6.4.5 Dimensions and deviations of pouches
The dimensions and deviations of pouches shall comply with the provisions of Table 6.
6.5 Physical properties
6.5.1 Mechanical and optical properties
Mechanical and optical properties shall comply with the provisions of Table 7.
6.5.2 Water vapour barrier properties
Water vapour barrier properties shall comply with the provisions of Table 8.
6.5.3 Oxygen barrier properties
Oxygen barrier properties shall comply with the provisions of Table 9.
6.5.4 Pressure resistance of pouches
The pressure resistance of pouches shall comply with the provisions of Table 10.
6.5.5 Drop performance of pouches
The drop performance of pouches shall comply with the provisions of Table 11.
6.6 Residual solvent
The total residual solvent in films and pouches for food packaging shall be less than or equal to 5.0 mg/m², and benzene-based solvents shall not be detected.
Note: The residual solvent item is limited to printed films and pouches.

5 Product classification
