3.2 clay
Powdered particles made by grinding bricks, tiles, rock (calcined), clay, shells, etc.
3.3 cloth mounting
The technique of using lacquer to adhere cloth materials such as hemp, cotton and silk to the surface of an object's base to reinforce the base and prevent cracking.
3.4 lacquer clay layer
A covering layer formed after mixing lacquer and clay (3.2) evenly and applying it to the surface of a lacquer base, where it solidifies.
3.5 lacquer coating
The technique of applying and decorating with lacquer on the surface of an object's base.
3.6 depicting
The technique of applying colour with lacquer on a lacquer ground.
NOTE: Includes techniques such as gold tracing, colour tracing, oil tracing, colour rubbing, gold tracing and colour painting, rubbing painting, etc.
