Determination of defoliant residues in cotton fibers

1 Scope
This document specifies test methods for determining defoliant residues in cotton fibers, such as thidiazuron, dimethipin, diuron, tribufos, ethephon and cyclanilide, using the high performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS/MS).
This document is applicable to determining defoliant residues in cotton fibers.

defoliant
pesticide used for spraying cotton leaves before picking cotton to cause them to fall off
Note: It includes thidiazuron, dimethipin, diuron, tribufos, ethephon, cyclanilide, etc.
4 Principle
A mixed solvent of acetonitrile and water is used for ultrasonic extraction of defoliants in the specimen. The extraction solution is filtered through a filter membrane, determined using HPLC-MS/MS, and quantified by the external standard method.
