Refer to Annex A for the recommended nondestructive testing methods for the typical flaws of metal materials commonly used for amusement equipment. 4.1.2 Visual testing is generally the first testing method used in amusement equipment testing. Magnetic particle testing should be selected for testing the surface and near surface flaws of ferromagnetic materials, penetrant testing for testing open flaws on the surface of materials, eddy current testing for testing the surface and near surface flaws of coated metal materials, ultrasonic or radiographic testing for testing internal flaws, acoustic emission testing for testing active flaws in in-service structure, magnetic flux leakage testing for testing structure corrosion and steel wire rope damage, magnetic memory testing for testing stress damage of ferromagnetic materials and ultrasonic guided wave testing for testing the cross section loss in in-service parts such as ropes, rods, bars, tubes and plates. 4.1.3 Where two or more testing methods are adopted to test the same part of an amusement equipment, the testing results shall be evaluated according to corresponding methods respectively. 4.1.4 Where the same nondestructive testing method is adopted for testing according to different testing technology, in case of any severity inconsistency of the same flaw, evaluation result with higher severity shall prevail. 4.1.5 The application of this standard shall meet those specified in relevant laws and standards. The instruments, consumables, etc. used shall meet the relevant basic standards for non-destructive testing. 4.2 Visual testing 4.2.1 Visual testing is applicable to the testing of parts and welds of various materials. Macroscopic damages such as corrosion, cracking, damage, wear and deformation, as well as matching abnormality, traces of overheating and leakage and macro flaws of welds can be found. 4.2.2 Specific technical requirements of visual testing shall meet those specified in GB/T 34370.2. 4.3 Magnetic particle testing 4.3.1 Magnetic particle testing is applicable to the testing of surface and near surface flaws of plates, composite plates, tubes, bars, castings and forgings made of ferromagnetic materials, and also applicable to the testing of surface and near surface flaws of butt welded joints, T-shaped welded joints and fillet joints of ferromagnetic materials. Magnetic particle testing is not suitable for testing non-ferromagnetic materials. It can be used to determine the location, size and shape of surface and near surface flaws. 4.3.2 The specific technical requirements of magnetic particle testing shall meet the requirements of GB/T 34370.3. 4.4 Penetrant testing 4.4.1 Penetrant testing is applicable to the testing of surface open flaws of plates (including composite plates), forgings, castings, tubes and welded joints. Penetrant testing is not applicable to the testing of porous materials. It can be used to determine the location, size and shape of the surface open flaws. 4.4.2 Specific technical requirements of penetrant testing shall meet those specified in GB/T 34370.4. 4.5 Ultrasonic testing 4.5.1 Ultrasonic testing is applicable to the testing of internal flaws of raw materials and parts such as plates (composite plates), tubes, bar, forgings and castings and also applicable to the testing of internal flaws of butt welded joints and T-shaped welded joints of full penetration and fusion welding.
