Performance requirements and test methods for advanced emergency braking system (AEBS) of commercial vehicles
1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, technical requirements and test methods of advanced emergency braking system (AEBS) of commercial vehicles.
This standard is applicable to M2, M3 and Category N vehicles with advanced emergency braking system (AEBS).

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 5620 as well as the following apply.
3.1
advanced emergency braking system; AEBS
system that monitors the forward driving environment of the vehicle in real time, and automatically starts the vehicle braking system to slow down the vehicle and reduce or avoid collision hazard in case of any collision risk
3.2
subject vehicle
vehicles subjected to AEBS tests in accordance with the requirements of this standard
3.3
target
mass-produced ordinary passenger vehicles with 4 or more seats and 2 or 4 side doors or representative objects whose detection parameters can represent the above vehicles and are suitable for AEBS sensing detection
3.4
moving target
target moving in the same direction at a constant speed in the center of the same lane in front of the subject vehicle
3.5
stationary target
target that remains motionless in the center of the same lane ahead of the subject vehicle
3.6
soft target
target used to simulate the ordinary passenger vehicle and the target with the least harm to itself and the subject vehicle when collision occurs
3.7
emergency braking phase
phase in which the subject vehicle is decelerating with a deceleration of at least 4m/s2 under the control of AEBS
3.8
collision warning phase
period from the time when the vehicle warns the driver that a collision may occur ahead to the time before the emergency braking phase of the vehicle
