GB/T 38795-2020 Performance requirements of side airbag and curtain airbag module English 1 Scope This standard specifies the technical requirements and test methods for side airbag modules and curtain airbag modules. This standard applies to side airbag modules and curtain airbag modules installed in M1 type vehicles, and it may apply to ones for other types of vehicles by reference. 2 Normative References The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this document. For dated references, only the edition cited applies. For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced document (including any amendments) applies. Side airbag module assembly consists of, but is not limited to, an air bag, a gas generator, a connector, a label, and other auxiliary parts 3.2 curtain airbag module; CAB airbag module installed on the top of the side of an automobile or the interior of the door and as a passive safety device used to protect the head of occupants in the event of a vehicle crash. Curtain airbag module assembly consists of, but is not limited to, an air bag, a gas generator, a connector, a label and other auxiliary parts 3.3 sewing line thread for sewing the airbag circumference, dividing the airbag compartment, and keeping an airbag module intact and functioning normally 3.4 seam linear connection structure that forms an airbag (e.g. integral airbag) compartment profile for keeping the airbag module intact and functioning normally 3.5 filling time time it takes for the airbag module to receive the ignition signal until its airbag is inflated to meet the design requirements 3.6 burning air bag being burned through during the deployment 3.7 intact the sample is not completely damaged after the test, and subsequent tests can be carried out 3.8 temperature build-up time te difference between the time taken for the temperature of the defined test sample reference point (generally the point at which the temperature of the test sample changes the slowest) to rise or decrease from the initial temperature to the target temperature minus the time taken for the climatic temperature to rise or decrease from the initial temperature to the target temperature 3.9 power spectral density; PSD distribution of power contained in each frequency component of the random signal in the frequency domain Note: It is usually expressed as PSD, in quadratic power per hertz (g2/Hz). The graph of its distribution in the frequency domain is called a spectrogram. 4 Side airbag module and curtain airbag module deployment requirements 4.1 The sub-parts of the module shall not have hard splash (such as metal parts and plastic parts) caused by the deployment of the airbag during and after the static deployment test of the airbag module described in Clause 7. If there is any hard shedding, it shall not fall off towards the occupant side.
