Technical Specification for Evaluation of New Varieties of Chinese Materia Medica (Botanicals) 1 Scope This document defines the terms and definitions of evaluation of new varieties of Chinese herbal medicines (botanical medicines), stipulates the evaluation content and basis, variety test, evaluation requirements, evaluation rules and record materials, etc. This document is applicable to the field evaluation and registration of new varieties of Chinese herbal medicines (botanical medicines). 2 Normative references There are no normative references in this document. 3 Terms and Definitions The following terms and definitions are applicable to this document. 3.1 Botanical medicine medicinal plants The medicinal parts of medicinal plants harvested by the origin of the original medicinal material formed by primary processing. 3.2 species variety The original species of Chinese herbal medicine, which has been artificially selected or discovered and improved, and is distinctly different from the existing species, with morphological characteristics and biology.
