GB/T 42695-2023 Textiles - Quantitative chemical analysis - Mixtures of kapok with certain other fibers WARNING - Persons using this document shall be familiar with normal laboratory practice. This document does not purport to address all of the safety problems, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user to establish appropriate safety and health measures and to ensure compliance with any national regulatory conditions. 1 Scope This document specifies the method for determining fiber content in two-component mixtures of kapok with certain other fibers by chemical analysis method after removal of non-fibrous substances from the kapok. This document is applicable to two-component mixtures of kapok with certain natural protein fibers (silk, sheep wool, other animal hair fibers), certain natural cellulose fibers (cotton, flax, ramie), certain regenerated cellulose fibers (viscose, modal fibers, Lyocell fibers, copper ammonia fibers), polyester fibers, polypropylene fibers, polyethylene fibers, polyamide fibers, acrylic fibers, certain modacrylic fibers, polyurethane elastic fibers, polyvinyl alcohol fibers, acetate fibers or triacetate fibers. This document is not applicable to mixtures in which cotton fibers or regenerated cellulose have been severely chemically degraded, nor to mixtures in which durable finishing agents or reactive dyes are present in the kapok which cannot be completely removed, rendering the kapok incompletely soluble. Note: See Annex A for the qualitative identification method of kapok. 2 Normative references The following documents contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this document. For dated references, only the edition cited applies. For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced document (including any amendments) applies. Collect the residue, wash it, dry it, and weigh it. Then, calculate its percentage in the dry mass of the mixture based on the corrected mass. Then, obtain the mass fraction of the second component from the difference. 5.2 Reagents 5.2.1 Reagents specified in GB/T 2910.1 shall be used. 5.2.2 Formic acid/zinc chloride solution: Prepare 20g of anhydrous zinc chloride (mass fraction >98%) and 68g of anhydrous formic acid, and then diluted them to 100g with water. 5.2.3 Dilute ammonia solution: Take 20mL of concentrated ammonia (density: ρ=0.880g/mL) and dilute it to 1L with water.   5.3 Apparatus 5.3.1 Apparatus specified in GB/T 2910.1 shall be used. 5.3.2 Stoppered conical flask: With a capacity not less than 200mL. 5.3.3 Constant temperature water bath: Capable of maintaining the temperature at (70±2)℃. 5.4 Test procedure Follow the general procedure given in GB/T 2910.1, and then proceed as follows.
