This document applies to all types of fabrics and their products. 2 Normative references The following documents contain requirements which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this document. For dated references, only the edition cited applies. For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced document (including any amendments) applies. GB/T 6529 Textiles - Standard atmospheres for conditioning and testing GB/T 8170 Rules of rounding off for numerical values & expression and judgment of limiting values 3 Terms and definitions For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply. 3.1 luminated afterglow property property of textiles to absorb light energy in the environment and store it, and to continuously emit light for a certain period of time in the dark environment Note: The luminated afterglow property of the specimen is generally characterized by afterglow luminance and afterglow decay time. 3.2 luminance luminous Intensity of surface of textiles, i.e., the luminous intensity per unit area Note: The unit of luminance is cd/m. 3.3 illuminance received luminous flux per unit area of the illuminated surface Note: The unit of illuminance is lx. 3.4 saturating excitation state in which the change in the luminance of specimen is less than 5% when the irradiation time is prolonged under the illumination of an excitation light source 4 Principle Using the specified light source as the excitation light source, directly irradiate the specimen under the specified illumination conditions. After the specimen is saturated with excitation, remove the excitation light source and measure the afterglow luminance and decay time of the specimen surface using a brightness meter.
