1 Scope
This paper describes a test method for the determination of benzalkonium chloride in textiles by high-performance liquid chromatography - diode array detector (HPLC-DAD) or high-performance liquid chromatography - tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS/MS).
This document is applicable to all kinds of textiles.

4 Principle
Benzalkonium chloride is extracted by ultrasonic extraction with acetonitrile. After being filtrated by filter membrane, the extract is determined by HPLC-DAD or HPLC-MS/MS, and quantified by external standard method.
