1. Scope
This clause of GB/T 4706.1—2024 is replaced by the following.
This document specifies safety requirements for household and similar fresh-air circulators.
It applies to single-phase appliances with a rated voltage not exceeding 250 V and other appliances with a rated voltage not exceeding 480 V.
Note 101: Examples of appliances within scope:
Uni-directional fresh-air circulators (supply only, no exhaust);
Bi-directional fresh-air circulators (both supply and exhaust);
Heat recovery fresh-air circulators;
Fresh-air circulators with auxiliary heating;
Other functional variants (GB/T 4706 parts may apply to additional functions, e.g., air conditioning aspects under GB/T 4706.32).
Appliances not for general household use but still posing public hazards (e.g., used in shops, light industry, or farms by non-professionals) are covered.
Note 102: Exclusions:
Ducted fans (GB/T 4706.27);
Humidifiers with HVAC systems (without fresh-air function, GB/T 4706.105);
Heat pumps, air conditioners, and dehumidifiers (GB/T 4706.32);
Industrial-grade fresh-air circulators;
Units for corrosive/explosive environments (dust, vapor, gas).
2. Normative References
Essential provisions are derived from:
GB/T 2423.18-2021: Environmental testing—Part 2: Tests—Test Kb: Salt spray, cyclic (sodium chloride solution);
GB/T 4706.123-2024: Safety of household appliances—Part 123: Particular requirements for electric clothes dryers;
GB/T 30117.1-2024: Photobiological safety of non-coherent light products—Part 1: General requirements;
IEC 61032: Protection against access to live parts (probes for verification);
IEC 61058-1: Appliance switches—Part 1: General requirements.
3. Terms and Definitions
3.1.9 Normal Operation
