3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 follow speed
The speed measured after the fan has returned to normal conditions following various environmental tests and the high temperature life test.
3.2 benchmark speed
The stable speed measured before all environmental tests.
4 Classification
4.1 Voltage ratings
The operating voltage of the fan is DC voltage, selected from the following values:
4.5 V, 6 V, 12 V, 15 V, 24 V, 28 V, 36 V, 48 V, 60 V and 110 V.
4.2 Designation rules
4.2.1 Type designation
The type designation of the fan consists of the following parts:
4.2.2 Fan size designation
The fan size designation is expressed by the millimetre dimension of the fan impeller outer diameter.
4.2.3 Product name code
The product name code consists of 3 to 4 uppercase Chinese Pinyin letters, as shown in Table 1.
4.2.4 Performance parameter code
For axial flow fans, the performance parameter code consists of 3 to 4 Arabic numerals, with a hyphen between the second and third digits. The first Arabic numeral indicates the voltage rating, with codes as shown in Table 2; the second Arabic numeral indicates the rotational speed, with codes as shown in Table 3; the third and fourth Arabic numerals indicate the axial length of the fan in millimetres. For centrifugal fans, the performance parameter code is specified in the productspecific technical specification.
4.2.5 Example
100FZW2308 indicates a basic type brushless DC axial flow fan with an impeller outer diameter of 100 mm, an operating voltage of 12 V, a benchmark speed of 3500 r/min to 4499 r/min, and an axial length of 8 mm.
4.3 Operating environmental conditions
The general operating environmental conditions for fans shall be selected according to Table 4 or the productspecific technical specification.
5 Technical Requirements
5.1 Appearance
The surface of the fan shall be free from corrosion, peeling, dents and scratches. Fasteners shall be securely connected. A nameplate shall be affixed in a conspicuous position on the fan, shall not be detachable, and shall be clearly and correctly marked. The fan shall have the airflow direction and rotation direction marked on it.
5.2 External dimensions and mounting dimensions
Unless otherwise specified, the external dimensions and mounting dimensions of the fan shall comply with the provisions of Annex A.
5.3 Lead arrangement and marking
Fan power input shall be via lead wires, terminals or electrical connectors. The lead wire length shall not be less than 200 mm. The colour or marking shall comply with Table 5 or the productspecific technical specification.
5.4 Airflow direction and rotation direction
The fan shall have markings for airflow direction and rotation direction on the housing or nameplate. The fan shall operate smoothly when energised, and the airflow direction and rotation direction shall correspond to the markings.
5.5 Benchmark speed
The benchmark speed of the fan shall comply with Annex B or the productspecific technical specification.
5.6 Follow speed
The follow speed shall not be less than 90 % of the benchmark speed. After the low temperature test, the follow speed shall not be less than 80 % of the benchmark speed.
5.7 Starting current
When required, the starting current of the fan shall comply with the productspecific technical specification.
5.8 Operating current
