1 Scope This Part of GB/T 5008 specifies the dimension and marking of the positive and negative terminals of the lead-acid starting battery. This Part is applicable to the exhaust (flooded) type lead-acid batteries (hereinafter referred to as batteries) and valve-regulated batteries (with gas recombination function) with 12V rated voltage and used for starting, ignition and illumination of various automobiles, tractor and other internal-combustion engines. This Part is not applicable to batteries used for other purpose, for example starter batteries for railway internal-combustion engines.
