1 Scope This standard specifies methods for caprolactam determination by high performance liquid chromatography. This standard is applicable to determination of caprolactam in nylon 6 resin and its products polymerized of caprolactam. Detection limit by this method is 2ng, calculated by sample injection 10μL and the lowest detection concentration is 0.2 mg/L. 2 Principle After nylon 6 resin or its products is soaked by boiling water bath and taken in, the caprolactam in test piece dissolves in soak solution, high performance liquid chromatography is directly adopted for separation and determination to reserve time qualitative, peak height or peak area quantitation.
