1 Application Scope This standard specifies the chemical composition of wrought copper and lists the common forms of wrought products. 2 Chemical Composition 2.1 The chemical composition of wrought copper shall be in accordance with those specified in Table 1. Where the demander requires limiting the elements not specified in Tables 1, 2 and 3, these elements may be determined upon the negotiation between supplier and demander. 2.2 Bismuth and stibium may not be analyzed, but the supplier must guarantee that they are not larger than the threshold values. 2.3 The iron content of brass used for magnetic resistance shall not be larger than 0.030%. 2.4 The maximum values of the following impurities in H70 and H68 for special purpose shall be: Fe: 0.07%; Sb: 0.002%; P: 0.005%; As: 0.005%; S: 0.002%. The maximum value of the total content of impurities shall be 0.20%. 2.5 In HPb59-1, the stannum content shall not be larger than 0.3%, the silicon content shall not be larger than 0.2%, the nickel content shall not be larger than 1.0%; in other brass, the maximum value of nickel content shall be 0.5%; the nickel content shall be counted in the copper. 2.6 In HMn57-3-1 and HMn58-2 used for shaped casting, the phosphorus content shall not be larger than 0.03%. In HMn55-3-1 for special purpose, the aluminium content shall not be larger than 0.1%. 2.7 Upon the agreement between the supplier and demander, the HMn58-2 alloy with manganese content of 3.0~4.0% may be supplied. 2.8 The rounding off of numerical values shall be carried out in accordance with the rules for rounding off of numerical values given in Appendix C of "Directives for the Work of Standardization-General Rules for Drafting Standards" (GB 1.1-81).
