IEC 60825的本部分是技术报告对策划、设计、安装和实施采用高功率激光进行显示与表演给予指导。为了在大型场合例如剧院、广场或建筑物上产生戏剧或艺术的显示效果其激光功率大到足以造成严重的照射事故即使极为短暂地照射到人也会如此。为此GB/T 7247.14-2012中4.1.5子条款规定在没有监管的地方进行示教、显示或娱乐目的只能用1类、2类或可见光3R类的激光产品其他类的激光产品只允许在可控的条件下和经过培训有经验的操作者的指导下谨慎使用。本部分不包括科研、医疗或工业激光产品的显示或示教但其中很多原理可以适用上述情况。本指南提供了激光显示或表演的安全建议包括：艺术显示、广告或光雕制品、博物馆演示光学原理的展品等。用于家庭环境的激光产品或无法要求他们接受1类、2类或可见光3R类激光产品培训的人所用的激光产品在本部分范围之外。
