本标准规定了用卡尔・费休试剂测定表面活性剂和洗涤剂中含水量的方法。本标准适用于粉状、浆状及溶液的产品。对于含水量低于1%（m/m）的试样，本法是采用的唯一方法。若试样含有碱金属硅酸盐、碳酸盐、氢氧化物和硼酸盐，碱性化合物与卡尔・费休试剂反应，得到偏高的测定值。在测定前应先分析试样中的碱金属盐。
