本标准是对GB/T 7550-1987《球笼式同步万向联轴器　试验方法》的修订。
本标准规定了球笼式同步万向联轴器的性能试验、试验仪器设备、试验报告。
本标准适用于按GB/T 7549制造的联轴器，其他类型的联轴器可参考使用。
本标准与GB/T 7550-1987相比在内容上有如下变化：
———按照GB/T 1.1-2000编写本标准；
———增加了前言；
———增加了规范性引用文件；
———取消了“1　性能试验项目”的内容；
———将原“2　试验仪器设备”改为“４　试验仪器设备”；
———将联轴器型号“QWL”改为“WQL”。
