本标准规定了运行中汽轮机油破乳化度的测定方法。
本标准适用于运行中汽轮机油，新油可参照执行。
本标准与GB/T 7605-1987相比主要变化如下：
———将原标准内容进行了适当的重新编排；
———对试验用水做了明确规定；
———原标准中清洗量筒时依次使用铬酸洗液、清水、蒸馏水，本次修订改为铬酸洗液、自来水、蒸馏水，这样更易于在实际操作中实现；
———原标准GB/T 7605-1987《运行中汽轮机油破乳化度测定法》中没有规定试验时间，本次修订规定了试验时间；
———增加了一些特殊的试验现象的判定。
