GB/T 9771的本部分规定了Ｂ1.2类截止波长位移单模光纤的几何、光学、传输特性和机械、环境性能的要求，规定了光纤特性的测量方法。该类光纤的零色散波长在1310nm附近，截止波长移到了较长波长，在1550nm波长区域衰减最低，最佳工作波长在1530nm～1625nm范围。
本部分适用于通信光缆和其他信息传输设备中使用的Ｂ1.2类单模光纤，特别适用于海底通信光缆中使用的Ｂ1.2类单模光纤。
