1 Scope This document specifies the test method for the gluing load capacity of different lubricants for test gears under specific test conditions, and the comparison method for the gluing load capacity of different gears under the same test conditions, including test purpose, test equipment, test types, failure evaluation, test procedures and test reports. This document applies to the test of thermal bonding damage caused by the breakdown of the lubricant film on the tooth surface due to high temperatures caused by load and tooth sliding under oil-lubricated conditions. Note 1. scuffing is the migration of material from the same or different tooth surfaces due to severe adhesion, or the loss of material due to welding and tearing. note 2 Typical tooth scuffing generally occurs at high temperatures. High pressures or high relative sliding speeds are caused by the lack or destruction of the lubricant film between the meshing tooth surfaces. or breakdown of the lubricating oil film between the intermeshing tooth surfaces.
