本标准是对QB／T 2232—1996《电动童车通用技术条件》的修订。
本标准与QB／T 2232—1996相比，主要变化如下：
——理顺了与GB 6675—2003《国家玩具安全技术规范》和GB 19865—2005《电玩具的安全》的关系：对在上述标准中涉及电动童车方面的强制性内容整理为一个资料性附录，删除了在原标准中和上述标准相冲突的内容，修正了和上述标准要求不一致的技术条款；
——增加了产品核心部件：电源、减速器、方向机构、轮胎、摇控器等技术性能指标及整车耐用性技术指标；
——增加了5个附录。
