本标准规定了汽车碰撞时对行人保护方面的试验方法。
本标准适用于最大设计总质量大于500kg的M1类汽车。最大设计总质量大于500kg但不大于4500kg的M2类汽车，以及最大设计总质量大于500kg但不大于4500kg的N类汽车，可参照执行。但不包括驾驶员座椅R点与前轴中心的横向铅垂平面的水平距离小于1000mm的M2类和N类汽车。
