SN/T 5884-2025 Determination of sulfuryl fluoride residues in foodstuffs for import and export - Headspace gas chromatography
1 Scope
This document describes a headspace gas chromatography method for the determination of sulfuryl fluoride residues in foodstuffs.
This document is applicable to the determination of sulfuryl fluoride residues in foodstuffs including rice, ginger, cucumber, corn flour, walnut, raisin, cassia bark, tilapia, duck liver, beef, dried pork, milk and egg. Other foodstuffs may be determined by reference to this method.

4 Method summary
Sulfuryl fluoride in the specimen is extracted with water and determined by automatic headspace gas chromatography with electron capture detector (GC-ECD). Qualitative analysis is performed by retention time, and quantitative analysis is carried out by the external standard method using the matrix single standard method or matrix standard curve method.
5 Reagents and materials
Unless otherwise specified, all reagents used are of analytical grade, and the water is Grade 1 water as specified in GB/T 6682.
5.1 Reagents
5.1.1 Acetone (CH3COCH3, CAS No.: 67-64-1): chromatographic grade.
5.1.2 Ammonium chloride (NH4Cl, CAS No.: 12125-02-9).
5.2 Reference materials
Bottled stock gas of sulfuryl fluoride reference material (Sulfuryl fluoride, SO2F2, CAS No.: 2699-79-8): 2 000.0 mg/L, or reference materials with certified reference material certificates.
5.3 Preparation of standard solutions
5.3.1 Sulfuryl fluoride content in bottled stock gas of sulfuryl fluoride reference material at room temperature and atmospheric pressure:
The room temperature and atmospheric pressure are recorded, and the concentration of sulfuryl fluoride standard solution is calculated using Equation (1).
