1 General 1.1 Scope of Application The regulation for train traction calculation specifies the traction calculation method and the main technical parameters adopted and it is served as the basis for determining the tractive tonnage, running velocity and running time and for calculating the power, fuel, coal and water consumption of locomotives. This regulation is applicable to the traction calculation of trains with standard rail gauge of 1,435mm. 1.2 Symbols and measurement unit For all parameters, the national legal units of measurement are adopted. See Annex M for the symbols and measurement units used in the calculation. 1.3 Units and value requirements of main physical variables See Table 1 for the unit and value requirements of the main physical variables.
