1 Scope
This document specifies the terms and definitions, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage, and quality certificate for brake discs used for rolling stock (hereinafter referred to as "brake discs").
This document is applicable to the following brake discs:
——Wheel mounted brake discs used for rolling stock with a maximum operating speed of 200km/h and below;
——Axle mounted brake discs used for passenger coaches with a maximum operating speed of 160km/h and below;
——Axle mounted and wheel mounted brake discs used for EMUs with a maximum operating speed ranging from 200km/h to 350km/h.
This document may serve as a reference for brake discs used for other rail transit rolling stock.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.

axle mounted brake disc
component installed on the axle and forming a brake friction pair with the brake pads

wheel mounted brake disc
component installed on both sides of the wheel spokes and forming a brake friction pair with the brake pads

brake ring
part of a brake disc that cooperates with the brake pads to perform friction braking
3.4
disc hub
part of an axle mounted brake disc that connects the brake ring and the axle
3.5
friction face
surface of the brake ring that comes into frictional contact with the brake pads
3.6
ventilated brake disc
brake disc with a ventilation and heat dissipation structure between the two friction faces of the brake ring
3.7
non-ventilated brake disc
brake disc without a ventilation and heat dissipation structure between the two friction faces of the brake ring
3.8
wear limit
the maximum allowable wear dimension of the brake ring of a brake disc
