3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
brake control system
system that realizes the brake control function for multiple unit
3.2
BCU; brake control unit
device installed on each car of the multiple unit to perform the brake control function
3.3
EBCU; electronic brake control unit
integrated device with electronic modules controlled by microcomputer
3.4
PBCU; pneumatic brake control unit
integrated device composed of pneumatic control components
3.5
blending brake control of EP brake and ED brake
control mode that combines dynamic brake and air brake for joint brake
3.6
electro-pneumatic direct brake
brake control mode where the BCU controls the main air reservoir to directly charge air into the brake cylinder according to the electric brake command

brake control mode that uses an automatic air brake to change the brake cylinder pressure by regulating the train pipe pressure
4 Environmental conditions
4.1 Altitude ≤1400m.
4.2 Operating ambient temperature ranges from -25 ℃ to +40 ℃; for special environments, the range is -40 ℃ to +40 ℃. Storage is permitted at ambient temperatures no lower than -40 ℃.
4.3 The maximum relative humidity shall not exceed 95% (when the monthly average minimum temperature of the month is 25 ℃). Under special circumstances, when the altitude is between 1400 m and 2500 m, the maximum relative humidity shall not exceed 90% (when the monthly average minimum temperature of the month is 25 ℃).
4.4 The equipment is generally installed at the lower part of the vehicle body with effective protective measures, enabling normal operation under windy, sandy, rainy and snowy weather conditions, as well as in scenarios with occasional salt fog, acid rain and sandstorms.
4.5 If the service conditions differ from those specified in 4.1, 4.2, 4.3 and 4.4, special measures shall be determined through negotiation between the user and the manufacturer. To verify the effectiveness of these measures, optional test items may be specified and conducted in the laboratory or on the multiple unit in accordance with the mutually agreed methods.
5 Functional requirements
5.1 General requirements
5.1.1 The brake control system shall be designed in accordance with the principle of "fault-oriented safety".
