This document is applicable to the main load-bearing parts of large-scale amusement ride as specified in GB 8408. Reference may be made to the list of main load-bearing parts in the design document appraisal report and the operation and maintenance instructions. Annex A provides examples for main load-bearing parts of typical large-scale amusement ride. 3.2 safety assessment of main load-bearing parts activity of conducting a comprehensive assessment on the safety status of main load-bearing parts of large-scale amusement ride through means such as technical file review, on-site inspection and testing, health status analysis and evaluation, and theoretical estimation of remaining service life 3.3 theoretical calculation service life theoretical service life (in years, months, days, hours, or cycles) of main load-bearing parts, calculated based on methods such as theoretical analysis, calculation, or experimental research, taking into account the expected load conditions and the expected number of operating cycles of the equipment 3.4 design service life expected service life (in years, months, days, hours, or cycles) for safe operation of the main load-bearing parts of the equipment, provided by the equipment manufacturer based on the theoretical calculation service life of the main load-bearing parts, taking into account factors such as equipment manufacturing, installation, operation, and maintenance 3.5 real service time effective service time (in years, months, days, hours, or cycles) of the main load-bearing parts, calculated based on the actual operating time of the equipment (including the time for passengers getting on and off), with the completion of the initial installation supervision inspection of the large-scale amusement ride as the starting point Note: If the equipment has been equipped with accurate and reliable counting or timing device, the statistics shall be based on such counting or timing device; otherwise, estimation shall be made according to 8h/d. 3.6 remaining service life time (in years, months, days, hours, or cycles) that the main load-bearing parts can continue operating under expected operation and maintenance conditions, as given by the safety assessment 4 Basic requirements 4.1 Purpose of assessment The purpose of the safety assessment of main load-bearing parts of large-scale amusement ride is to, on the basis of comprehensive inspection and testing, analyze and evaluate their health status, estimate their remaining service life, comprehensively assess their safety status, and propose suggestions for repair, replacement, or continued operation. 4.2 Assessment conditions Safety assessment shall be carried out on main load-bearing parts of large-scale amusement ride under any of the following circumstances: a) the main load-bearing parts have reached their design service life; b) the complete equipment is to be returned to service after being out of service for more than one year; c) the ride has been affected by extreme environmental conditions such as typhoons or earthquakes;
