本文件规定了室外型通信电源系统的定义、分类、技术要求、结构要求、环境适应性要求、试验方法、检验规则以及标志、包装、运输和储存。
本文件适用于放置在室外固定地点的，输出功率大于6kW，由48V直流电源或交流不间断电源（UPS）、蓄电池、配电装置、温度调节装置和机柜组成的通信电源系统，不适用于室外型柴油发电机组、车船载移动电源系统及利用自然环境能量发电的电源系统。
