1 Scope
This standard specifies the raw materials, product quality, application scope, application methods, test methods, marking and packaging, transportation and storage, labels and instructions, and precautions for phenol disinfectant.
This standard is applicable to disinfectants with phenolic compounds such as phenol, cresol, p-chloro-m-xylenol (PCMX) and trichloro-hydroxydiphenyl ether as main raw materials, appropriate surfactant, ethanol or isopropanol as solubilizer, ethanol or isopropanol (or) water as solvent and without any other bactericidal ingredients.
This standard is not applicable to other single or compound phenol disinfectants.

For the purpose of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
phenolic compounds
compounds produced by substituting hydrogen atoms on benzene rings with hydroxyl groups in aromatic hydrocarbons, specifically phenol, cresol, PCMX and trichloro-hydroxydiphenyl ether in this standard
3.2
phenol disinfectant
disinfectant with phenolic compounds as main raw materials, surfactant, ethanol or isopropanol as solubilizer, ethanol or isopropanol or water as solvent and without any other bactericidal ingredients
