1 Scope This stanbdard is applicable to food additive - polydimethyl siloxane (PDMS) and its emulsion. Note: polydimethyl siloxane is a permethylated linear siloxane polymer prepared by hydrolysis of a mixture of dimethyldichlorosilane and a small amount of trimethylchlorosilane. The polydimethyl siloxane emulsion is made of the food additive polydimethyl siloxane, plus deionized water and accessory materials (see Annex A) by emulsification. 2 Structural formula, molecular formula and relative molecular mass of polydimethyl siloxane 2.1 Structural formula Where, n is 90 to 410. 2.2 Molecular formula C3H9Si(C2H6OSi)n SiOC3H9. 2.3 Relative molecular mass 6 832.356~30 548.196 (according to the international relative atomic mass in 2011). 3 Technical requirements 3.1 Sensory requirements Sensory requirements shall meet those specified in Table 1.
