1 Scope This standard specifies the specimens, equipments, conditions, procedures and results calculation for measuring the impact properties with charpy impact method. This standard is applicable to measure the impact properties of fibre-reinforced plastics composites specimens with nicks; while the impact properties measurement of specimens without nicks may refer to this standard. 2 Normative References The following standard contains provisions which, through reference in the following text, constitute provisions of this standard. For dated reference, subsequent amendments (excluding correction) to, or revisions of, any of these publications do not apply. However, parties to agreements based on this standard are encouraged to investigate the possibility of applying the most recent editions of the standards indicated below. For undated references, the latest edition of the normative document referred to applies. GB/T 1446—2005 Fiber-reinforced plastics composites-The generals 3 Test Principles Both ends of specimen with V-nick are horizontally placed on a support; the nick is back on impact pendulum; then pendulum strike the middle specimen once to make specimen generate stress concentration during impact and then enable the specimen to break rapidly. 4 Specimen 4.1 Type and dimension of specimen 4.1.1 Type and dimension of fabric specimen whose nick direction is vertical to layer are shown in Figure 1.
