GB/T 17445-2022 Cast grinding balls
1 Scope
This document specifies the grades and codes, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, certificate, packaging and transport of chromium alloy white cast iron grinding balls and ductile iron grinding balls for drum mills.
This document is applicable to chromium alloy white cast iron grinding balls and ductile iron grinding balls (hereinafter referred to as "grinding balls") used for crushing and grinding related materials such as ore, coal and cement in metallurgy, electric power, building materials and chemical industries.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purpose of this document, the following terms and definitions and those defined in GB/T 5611 apply.

chromium alloy white cast iron grinding ball
grinding balls cast from white cast iron with chromium as the main alloying element
3.2
ductile iron grinding ball
grinding balls cast by ductile iron
3.3
breakage ratio of ball
percentage of total weight of broken balls to total weight of used balls.
Note: Broken ball refers to the grinding ball whose broken area exceeds 1/3 of the surface area of the grinding ball in the normal production operation of the mill.
3.4
impact fatigue life of grinding ball
number of impacts that the grinding ball withstands when it fails due to impact fatigue as determined in the falling ball test
3.5
ball consumption
total weight of grinding balls consumed for crushing and grinding each ton of material during the normal production operation of the mill
