本标准适用于磷总含量不超过5%（质量分数）的淀粉及其衍生物样品。本标准和GB/T 12092-1989相比主要修改如下：
———标准名称改为《淀粉及其衍生物磷总含量测定》；
———完善了标准格式，按国际单位制规范了单位；
