Inks for optical fiber coloring 1 Scope This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of inks for optical fiber coloring. This standard is applicable to inks for ultraviolet (UV) curing optical fiber coloring (hereinafter referred to as coloring ink). 2 Normative references The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this standard. The values of the coloring layer shall meet those specified in Annex A. If not specified in Table 1, the color may be negotiated by the supplier and the demander. Table 1 Color code S.N. After the test, the coating surface shall be free from decolorization or obvious discoloration. 3.5 High- and low- temperature property After curing, the coating film shall be tested according to 4.10, and it shall be free from obvious fading and cracks after the test. 3.6 Solvent resistance of coloring layer After curing, the coating film shall be tested according to 4.11, and it shall be free from fading and decolorization after wiped with corresponding reagents for specified times. 3.7 Environmental protection property It shall meet the requirements of GB/T 26572-2011. 4 Test methods 4.1 Appearance Under the indoor natural light, the bottled ink mixed well is poured into the glass dish with a diameter of 100mm, and visually inspected within 10s. 4.2 Color 4.2.1 Color code The color of coloring ink shall be compared by color cards during visual inspection under natural light (or fluorescent lamp). Arbitration shall be made based on the munsell coordinates specified in Table A.2. 4.2.2 Color of coloring layer 4.2.2.1 Apparatus The apparatus are as follows: a) UV illuminance meter; b) UV light; c) Glass slide: 25.4mm × 76.2mm; d) Paint scraper: film thickness of (30±10)μm; e) Spectrophotometer. 4.2.2.2 Sample preparation The sample is made into a thin film with a thickness of (30±10)μm on a glass slide, and is cured by UV dose with a thickness of (0.55±0.05) J/cm2 for measurement. 4.2.2.3 Test steps The color code of coloring ink may be measured by spectrophotometer to measure one of L, a, b or H, V, C. The test steps are as follows: a) Fold the cured sample film into 3 layers to make it opaque for use; b) Open the spectrophotometer and calibrate the sample by the whiteboard; c) Test the sample and record the L, a, b values displayed on the instrument; d) Test the sample and record the H, V, C values displayed on the instrument. 4.3 Viscosity The viscosity of liquid ink shall be determined according to GB/T 9751.1-2008 or GB/T 12004.4-2003 under the test temperature of (25±2)°C. Arbitration is made according to GB/T 9751.1-2008.
