本标准代替GB/T 4570-1995《摩托车和轻便摩托车耐久性试验方法》。
本标准规定了摩托车和轻便摩托车耐久性试验的试验条件及中止试验条件、试验项目及试验方法、试验报告。
本标准适用于摩托车和轻便摩托车（赛车和电动摩托车除外）的耐久性试验。
本标准与GB/T 4570-1995相比，主要修订内容如下：
——调整了主要性能试验项目，增加了定置噪声、喇叭声级、整车前照灯性能；
——增加了耐久性试验样车数量的规定；
——增中了驾驶操作和例行操作；
——调整了试验路面设置和行驶里程分配；
——增加了耐久性评价计算方法。
