1 Scope This Part of JB/T 5000 specifies the ultrasonic, magnetic particle and penetrant inspection methods for forged steel and their quality grades. This Part is applicable to the non-destructive inspection of forged steel for heavy machinery use. Adoption of the non-destructive inspection method specified in this Part may involve dangerous materials, operation and equipments, so that personnel participating in the non-destructive inspection shall comply with the relevant specifications for safety and health protection. The non-destructive inspection method, position and quality grade of forgings shall be indicated in the forging drawing, technical documents and technical specifications for procurement. 2 Normative References The following normative documents contain provisions which, through reference in this Part of JB/T 5000, constitute provisions of this Part. For dated reference, subsequent amendments to (excluding correction to), or revisions of, any of these publications do not apply. However, the parties whose enter into agreement according to these specifications are encouraged to research whether the latest editions of these labels are applied or not. For undated references, the latest edition of the normative document is applicable to this Part.
